Cove Marina offers customers and guests a friendly environment for all ages. The entire marina has Wi-Fi coverage so that everyone can stay connected as they move around. There is also assistance available for help with loading, maintenance, repairs and other needs.
Ashore you will find off-street parking, restroom and showers, playground, pet relief area, propane grills with picnic tables, vending machine, coin operated laundry, ice cubes and blocks, dock attendants and more.
Once through the coded gate, you can enjoy wide, fiberglass non-skid floating docks, 30 and 50 amp power supply, pressurized water and numerous friendly boaters. Dock hands are available on VHF Channel 10 to assist boaters getting on and off the dock, deliver ice and other requests.
Weather patterns typically position Cove Marina in the ideal location. On the hot summer days when people feel like they’re melting, the southwest sea breeze blows across the river depositing water cooled air onto the marina. On the warmest days Cove Marina is often 5 or more degrees cooler than Newburyport marinas. Conversely, when the stormy northeast wind howls, Cove Marina is protected by elevated land that minimizes wind effects and permits calm waters at the dock.
Current in a river can be very challenging and deter some boaters. Because the marina sits in a cove with a rock wall on one side and marsh on the other, the strength of the current is reduced. The docks are also positioned in a manner so that the slips are parallel to the direction of the current as much as possible. The slower currents and dock positioning make it easier for boats to maneuver on and off the dock with or without a dockhand’s assistance.
